One of the blessings of living in the Northwest is being surrounded by many majestic mountains - Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, the Three Sisters, etc. Mountains seem to give a picture of strength, power and stability. But there is another mountain in the Northwest that demonstrated to the world how quickly a mountain can change. On May 18,1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted causing wide spread destruction and taking 57 lives. People who were there and survived know firsthand that a mountain does not always last forever.
Psalm 90:2 reminds us that even before the beautiful mountains existed, God was there. It was God who put them in place. God is the only One that truly has strength, power and stability. If you are seeking some stability in your life, I would encourage you to connect yourself to the "Rock" that never changes, Jesus Christ.
